The city is Not Dead
The city is not dead, But imagine how much courage it would take to ask complete strangers for a peace of change
With swift movements premeditated a few blocks down when they seen a slight chance of having to pass me and look towards the ground to feel better about not having to lie and tell me they have no idea how it feels to walk in my lack there of shoes or perhaps I did have on a nice pair of dress shoes nice slacks a button up maintaining a city job and living paycheck to paycheck never done did a drug in my life or stepped foot in a jailhouse
A sack of ripen banana and bruised apples a 711 sandwich a pocketbook with my own business cards a vision I’m able to carve out so little time to work towards . A house I cant call home because the cards were not shuffled enough for me to win when you actually play by the rules
The city is not dead and a peace of change is not at all that easy to come by but like rats scurrying for crumbs and leftovers swept away cause Ewww dirty Ewww smelly ewww scary just set the traps and kill em’ kill em’ I don’t want to see them anymore plaguing up the streets out of sight out of mind (*2)
The city is the not dead there are just a few cold hearted rich broken high and mighty criminals living large in sky risers on the hills with no interests in Peace of Change for this city they Love so much !
